The Willett family distillers brought their distilling knowledge with them from England to the American Colonies in the early 1600s.
Before coming to the colonies, they had utilised their knowledge and practiced their talents for many years distilling brandy in France, where the family originated. Even today, evidence of the family is at Square Willette at he foot of the Montmartre in Paris.
Once in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky the Bourbon Centre of the World the Willett family distillers became involved with developing several of the most famous bourbon distilleries in the area, and in the early 1900s decided to build their family owned and operated distillery.
They named the distillery The Willett Distilling Company in 1935, which has been operated by several generations of Willett family distilleries since then, and is today the home of Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd, still headed by one of the Willett family ancestors.

Tasting Notes.
Bottled in a really cool glass pot still decanter.
Soft and elegant on the nose and palate, and very well balanced. An incredibly drinkable whiskey... It was bottled at just the right time, based on tits great balance of flavours. Notes of vanilla, coconut and creme brulee provide a base for emerging notes of cedar wood shavings, cinnamon, soft mint and a hint of
fennel. A very graceful bourbon.
